ljubljana

To start my two-week vacation, I went to Ljubljana (pronounced lyoo-BLYAH-nah), the capital of Slovenia. Piotr agreed to join me since the girls I was meeting in Belgrade couldn't make it until Monday. I really enjoyed this beautiful little city and especially the surrounding areas.

The people in Slovenia were all so nice. Our hotel was located downtown, so Friday evening when we arrived we took a stroll into the old town, just a few blocks away. The town was a flurry of excitement and activity - live musicians and a market with local food and drink.

On Sunday we took a day trip to the Skocjanske park about an hour outside Ljublijana. We did some hiking and explored the caves. A friend had recommended this and I'm really glad we did it.

And that friends is real bat shit as in "bat shit crazy"
